Days 5 and 6: Utah...land of a gazillion huge rocks canyons

The last two days have been a bit of a whirlwind -- we've basically been doing the national park tour of southern Utah. Not only have the parks been beautiful, the drives in between have been spectacular as well.

We left Pagosa Springs on Monday morning and headed to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks.  We also took a side trip into Dead Horse State Park.
We couldn't have timed things better -- we were in Canyonlands to watch the sunset over the canyon.  AMAZING!

We stayed the night in Green River, UT and hit the road the next morning headed to Bryce and Zion National Parks.  The drive was absolutely amazing.  I wish I had a nickel for the times we said, "Wow!" or "Look over there!"  Thank goodness for all of those "Best Scenic Drives in the US" lists online or we never would have known to take that route.  Among the unexpected gems of the drive were passing through Capitol Reef NP, Dixie National Forest, and Escalante-Grand Staircase National Monument.  The views were absolutely breathtaking.

Bryce and Zion were fantastic, too.  :-)

Stay tuned for pictures...we haven't even looked at all of them yet.  I'm pretty sure we have taken a thousand pictures in the last two days.
